- Senior Systematic Reviewer
- Programme Manager
My current research focuses on monitoring long term conditions. Within this programme of work, I am leading a systematic review to identify, evaluate and compare all drug interventions to reduce the rate of chronic kidney disease progression especially sub-divided by chronic kidney disease stage. In addition, I am the programme manager for the overall programme of research.
Prior to this my focus involved conducting a systematic review as part of a project considering the optimal strategies for monitoring lipid levels in patients at risk or with cardiovascular disease. The review aimed to determine the 'best' lipid measure by considering the predictive value of various lipid measures for cardiovascular risk and mortality both for primary and secondary prevention. The review supported further research studying individual patient data sets and finally statistical models to estimate cost effectiveness of lipid screening and monitoring.
Alongside my research work, I commenced in October 2015 a two year part-time Masters degree in Evidence-Based Healthcare funded by the NIHR School for Primary Care Research.
