The Primary Care Health Sciences Scholars Programme provides a fully funded scholarship to students and is open to applicants with home/ROI fee status.

Announcing the scholarship, Professor Richard Hobbs, Head of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, said:

“DPhil students bring new questions, have fresh approaches to solving problems and challenge traditional perspectives. Growing our department’s multidisciplinary student community, and supporting a future generation of research leaders, is a key part of our department’s vision of better healthcare in the community. I’m excited to launch our first postgraduate scholars programme and look forward to welcoming our next cohort of students in 2021.”

The programme boosts the amount of funding potentially available to candidates, who will be automatically considered for full funding from a number of sources including MRC, Clarendon Funding and Oxford Colleges. As part of this competitive internal funding, the Primary Care Health Sciences Scholars Programme will guarantee funding to one student each academic year for the duration of their postgraduate study in the department, whether they choose a full-time or a part-time studentship. The programme funds University and College fees and a three year grant for living expenses.

Applications for October 2021 entry are now open, with a selection of projects available from across the department.
