Paul Aveyard, Professor of Behavioural Medicine, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, comments on a report by the National Obesity Forum that predicts more than half of the UK population could be obese by 2050. Professor Aveyard suggests changing the consumer environment by reducing the promotion of fatty foods and compares this to the controls on cigarette advertising.
