The Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science is a new and exciting project at the University of Oxford. We are an energetic team of software developers and researchers who build practical, data-driven tools and services to improve lives.
For this launch event the whole Bennett team will come together to give a fast-paced and comprehensive overview of our work, including:
- The OpenSAFELY.org platform, which has been delivering critical COVID-19 research across an unprecedented scale of data (over 99% of the population of England) using innovative approaches to protecting patients’ privacy, and open science.
- The OpenPrescribing.net platform, which provides openly accessible and actionable data on detailed prescribing choices at every GP practice in England, serving over 20,000 users a month.
- Policy initiatives such as the Goldacre Review for Secretary of State for Health and Social Care (“Better Broader Safer Uses of Health Data”).
- Our work on transparency and open science including the TrialsTracker.net project, which delivers live audit data on clinical trial reporting performance at all universities and drug companies in the US and Europe, with huge policy impact.
This event will be of particular interest to policymakers, researchers and healthcare professionals. But all are very welcome to come and learn about our work! This is an in person event: Please book your place below.
