How we make decisions in the department

Departmental committees support decision-making in the department.

Equality and Diversity and Better Workplace Groups support the broad aims of a ‘better workplace’ but may not be strictly limited to the remit of the Athena SWAN Charter. The department takes a ‘bottom up’ approach to these groups, allowing and encouraging colleagues to identify areas of need and create and run working groups to tackle those areas as needed. These groups make policy recommendations to our committees. You can join a group by contacting the group lead.

Open meetings take place twice per term and provide an opportunity to share and talk about research, teaching, and issues affecting the department. We often host Q&As with senior staff. 

Minutes of our committee meetings are published on Sharepoint.  Sharepoint has a new site and we are setting this up currently and access will be given once this is finalised.  In the meantime, should you have a request to see minutes of a meeting or have an item to raise for a Committee agenda, then please email the appropriate Chair and Secretary of the committee concerned, which you will find in the Terms of Reference and Membership above.  If you have any queries please email lucy.curtin@phc.ox.ac.uk
