Menopause in the workplace
Menopause is a natural stage of life that affects many people, including those in the workplace.
There is growing recognition of the benefits of fostering open, supportive conversations and making reasonable adjustments to help manage its impact at work.
As our careers extend, it is increasingly important to take proactive steps to promote good practice and minimise the challenges associated with menopause. Currently, 72% of NDPCHS are women, with 46% aged over 40. However, menopause can affect people of different ages and for various reasons, including medical conditions and life events. We are committed to an inclusive approach, recognising that women, trans men, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals may experience menopause.
Our goal is to create a workplace where everyone feels comfortable being themselves, free from barriers that affect confidence, performance, and wellbeing—particularly those linked to gender or other aspects of identity.
On this page, you will find a range of resources to support yourself and others. Any upcoming training opportunities will be linked to the right side of the webpage. Please contact ginger.jansen@phc.ox.ac.uk with any questions or additions you'd like to see.
