SPCR member departments are invited to nominate one candidate who has demonstrated the potential to become a future leader in primary care research. They will usually be 1-5 years post-doctoral. The School will fund one applicant (or part-fund two applicants) from member departments from the eight applicants selected by the programme organisers. Any subsequent successful candidates from a department will have to be self-funded/department funded.

As in previous years, heads of department will have to undertake to support applications without knowing if the fee will be reimbursed by the SPCR. The SPCR plays no part in the selection of participants and are informed of the names of the two highest ranked applicants once offers have been made.  We then arrange to pay the fees.

For the 2018 the SPCR will fund £7k each for two participants, leaving a balance of £5.3k for the home department to cover.
