Congratulations to Professor Richard McManus who was recently elected as the new second Statutory Chair in Primary Care. Professor McManus joined the department in 2011. His research interests lie mainly in cardiovascular disease and he has published work on the management of chest pain in primary care, blood pressure measurement, stroke management in primary care and self-monitoring in hypertension. Professor McManus heads up the Hypertension group within Primary Care Health Sciences.
