Oxford Institute for Digital Health
Connected health for better health
This dynamic new hub for applied digital health research brings together scientists from all disciplines to develop patient-level applications and diagnostics and to curate and analyse routine clinical data.
The diffusion of digital technology in health care is happening. Driving forward better health and care services depends on high-quality analytical support and research evidence, with data and insights that can readily identify areas of unmet need, guide choices about priorities, improve efficiency and advance patient care.
The Oxford Institute for Digital Health brings together the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences' big data analytics powerhouse with cross-departmental expertise in digital healthcare research, garnering the skills and ideas of our medical statisticians, software engineers, social scientists, health economists, health service researchers and clinical researchers.
Through this dynamic new hub for applied digital health research, we aim to drive digitally-enabled community care to bold new heights so health professionals can make better decisions for their patients.
Our vision is for digital health to enable those at most risk of illness to be identified and treated earlier and given the tools to manage their health and care better.
