Applications are invited from individuals with a strong academic record who wish to develop a career in primary care research.  These 3 year awards are offered in a national competition at all nine Universities within the NIHR School for Primary Care Research.

Awards will normally be taken up in October 2018.

Applicants must have a first degree in a discipline relevant to primary care research and will be expected to complete a DPhil during the award period.

This award is available for a DPhil undertaken in any non-clinical research area in The Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. Details of our research groups can be found here: and profiles of our researchers can be found here:

A stipend will be provided to the successful applicant along with payment of college and university fees and a contribution towards research and training costs. This award will fund tuition fees up to the value of Home/EU fees; students with overseas fee status are welcome to apply but will need to fund the remainder of their fees from alternative sources.

Please apply directly to the University of Oxford using the general online application for this studentship. The programme is the DPhil in Primary Health Care; all eligible applications will automatically be considered for the SPCR funding.
