Elizabeth Spencer

MMedSci, PhD

I am an epidemiologist with experience in conducting, and analysing data from, very large cohort studies, in particular investigating nutrition and cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Here within the CEBM team I've worked on self-care in non-communicable diseases, nutrition and cardiovascular health, the safety and effectiveness of treatments for influenza, and the evidence for orphan drugs.

My ongoing projects include using unpublished clinical study reports in systematic reviews, and looking at the impact of losses to follow-up in clinical trials. I am also involved in the Oxford Diagnostic Evidence Cooperative and am project manager for Academic Health Science Network fellowships on the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care.
