My research interests lie in diagnosis and management of common infections in primary care and in the generation of evidence for new diagnostic technologies in community healthcare settings, including urgent and unsheduled care, community midwifery, district nursing services, hospital at home and interface care settings,
I am the Director of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Community Healthcare. I am currently CI of the TOUCAN diagnostic accuracy platform study evaluating novel diagnostics in urinary tract infection and the DURATION-UTI RCT exploring the optimal durationof antibiotics for cystitis and pyelonephritis. I am part of the team delivering the PRINCIPLE and PANORAMIC studies and co-led the CONDOR collaboration evaluating point of care tests for COVID-19.
I am a practicing GP in Oxford city.
