Isabel Hanson

Biography

Dr Isabel Hanson is a General Practitioner and NIHR SPCR DPhil candidate in Primary Care.

Her DPhil project is conducting case studies on the introduction of youth mental health hubs in the UK, translating knowledge from the Australian experience with the Headspace model of care.

As a GP, Isabel has the privilege of working with remote Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. She has a Diploma in Child Health, and is accredited with the RACGP in advanced skills in counselling, shared antenatal care, and drug & alcohol treatment.

She was awarded the RACGP National General Practitioner in Training of the Year Award 2021.

Prior to her career in medicine Isabel worked as a Policy Analyst at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Department of Human Services (Australia).

She has a BSc in Psychology, a BA in Political Economy with First Class Honours, a postgraduate MBBS, an MSc in Translational Health Sciences, and fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
