Research Assistant
As part of the health behaviours team I am managing a study that aims to improve adherence to medication through a brief intervention delivered in primary care settings. I am also involved with developing a research tool that elicits the strategies used by people to manage their weight.
Prior to embarking on a research career, I taught mathematics in secondary schools and at the Oxfordshire Hospital School. Working alongside young patients and their families I could see first-hand the potential of using health psychology to improve both educational and health outcomes.
I retrained by completing an MSc in health psychology at Bath University where I won a full bursary.
I am interested in how research can be used to improve patient experience and health outcomes, with a particular focus on mid-life women's health and their experience of the menopause transition.
