Antimicrobial Resistance: Surveillance, Modelling, Dynamics, and Economic Impact
Kasim, PhD, is a Researcher at the University of Oxford specialising in epidemiological, mathematical, and health-economic modelling of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He holds a PhD in Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an MSc in Health Economics from University College London.
Kasim's research explores how socioeconomic, environmental, and spatial factors influence AMR and its health and economic impacts. Particularly, he focuses on integrating transmission modelling into health-economic evaluations to enhance surveillance and intervention strategies for AMR control.
Before joining the University of Oxford, Kasim worked at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on projects using mathematical and statistical approaches to understand the development and health-economic impact of AMR and other infectious diseases.
