Kerstin Frie
BSc MSc DPhil
Postdoctoral Researcher
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Health Behaviours team, working on the “Diet, Health and Behaviour” work package of the Wellcome Trust funded Livestock, Environment & People (LEAP) project. My research looks at how to motivate and help people make more sustainable and environmentally-friendly food choices using self-regulation strategies.
Before starting my postdoctoral research, I completed a DPhil in Primary Health Care under the supervision of Professor Paul Aveyard, Professor Susan Jebb and Dr Jamie Hartmann-Boyce. My research focussed on the development and testing of a behavioural weight loss intervention based on self-regulation theory. The intervention aimed to help people control their weight through self-monitoring of weight, behaviour reflection and action-planning.
My background lies in the field of psychology. In 2015, I graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Duesseldorf, Germany. In 2016, I completed the MSc in Social Cognition at University College London.
