Nicola Blakey

Assistant Trial Manager

I joined the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences in March 2015. My role is to set-up, manage and deliver clinical trials at GP practices. I am currently working on a project called ATAFUTI (Alternative Treatments of Adult Urinary Tract Infection).  ATAFUTI aims to evaluate whether a herbal remedy compared to placebo or the advice to take ibuprofen compared to no advice provide relief from urinary symptoms in adult women with a suspected UTI. The project will also evaluate if the herbal remedy or ibuprofen reduces the need for antibiotics.

Prior to my current role, I worked for two years as a Research Coordinator for the Critical Care Research Group based at the Kadoorie Centre.
