I manage all the research awards for the department. Once an award has been made I liaise with Research Services and Research Accounts to get it set up on the financial system, I ensure that collaborator budgets are set up and set up regular budget monitoring for all research awards. I create budget monitoring spreadsheets that PI's have access to and PI's can come to me at any point of their award to review their budgets and go through transaction details with me.
I work closely with my colleagues in the finance team to ensure that salaries, purchases and expenses are correctly coded to an award.
Where timesheets are required I keep a central record of these.
I also prepare financial reports for funders.
