Yumna Masood

Dr Yumna Masood, Qualitative Researcher

I am a Qualitative Researcher with over 12 years of experience in health services research. My research interests are promoting health equity through PPI engagement, designing and evaluating healthcare interventions that enhance access and equity, particularly for underserved communities. I hold a PhD funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), where I developed innovative strategies to improve the recruitment, engagement, and retention of underrepresented populations in clinical research.

I have successfully led complex research projects across leading institutions, including the University of Oxford, the University of Manchester, the University of Liverpool, and NHS settings. My research spans key areas such as menopause, women’s health, digital health interventions, Alzheimer's, arthritis, diabetes, mental health, and culturally adapting healthcare services to better meet the needs of diverse populations.

With extensive expertise in ethics, governance, conducting interviews, PPI engagement and project management, I drive diversity in healthcare participation and promote health equity. My work is published in peer-reviewed journals, and I am a skilled speaker adept at translating research into practical, scalable solutions to improve patient care.
