Global Primary Care & Future Health Systems

Our team focuses on international health systems, health policy, and models of care - synthesising, generating, and applying evidence to support the design of equitable health systems around the world. We use teaching, advocacy, research, and advisory work to help countries extend Universal Health Coverage with a bias towards marginalised and disadvantaged populations. Our work centres around urgent, supranational issues and relates to the configuration of health systems and services rather than clinical or biomedical interventions.

Our future health systems work involves forecasting and generating the evidence we need to optimise our health systems 10 years from now; meeting the challenges of demography, workforce, climate change, digital transformation, and health inequalities. We work where these tectonic issues intersect with the core business of primary care in delivering continuity, coordination, comprehensiveness, community-centredness, and equity. Oxford gives us access to the brightest minds, world-class resources, and a wealth of methods expertise. We support policymakers in high, middle, and low-income settings, with a natural predisposition toward underserved populations and the global south.
