Optimising Home Blood Pressure Monitoring to Identify People at Risk of Nocturnal Hypertension

At a  Glance

BP-TEMPO (Optimising Home Blood Pressure Monitoring to Identify People at Risk of Nocturnal Hypertension: Feasibility Study) will produce and evaluate a smartphone application to collect home blood pressure monitor data which could be used to identify people at risk of nocturnal (night-time) hypertension. The study will test the feasibility of using the smartphone app to collect a range of home BP (blood pressure) readings, by asking participants to use the app and blood pressure monitor at home by taking BP readings at set times throughout the day. Participants will also be asked to undertake 24 hours of continuous blood pressure monitoring. The study will evaluate the acceptability of the app and impact of continuous blood pressure monitoring on sleep quality.
