The Oxford Global Health Society (OGHS)
The Oxford Global Health Society (OGHS) is a platform for students interested in global health to connect, network, and learn from each other about global health programming and leadership. The society is focused on giving members knowledge and skills to become future global health leaders and helping them build lifelong connections with other global health enthusiasts at the University of Oxford.
Society coordinator
The current coordinator for OGHS is Francis Ayomoh, a Public Health Physician funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK and the University of Oxford for a DPhil programme in Primary Health Care. His DPhil research topic is 'Improving task-shifting and task-sharing for the provision of essential healthcare services in Nigeria: A mixed-methods study'.
His research interests include the development and interpretation of health policy, organisation and delivery of primary care, healthcare financing, health economics, maternal, child, and reproductive health, universal health coverage, value-based healthcare, non-communicable diseases, and disability.
Director of Communications
The current Director of Communications for OGHS is Dr Maria Julia (Maju) Brunette. She was born and raised in Perú, has substantial expertise in addressing equity issues among diverse communities in the Americas where she has continuously explored how to best adapt community-based participatory research (CBPR) methodologies to engage resource-constrained populations in addressing their health and social problems.
She is an Associate Professor [Global Health Equity] at the Ohio State University and a current student of the MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership programme.
