Claire joined the department in October 2019. She is Executive Assistant to Professor Gail Hayward and Dr Phil Turner.  She is the main administrator for the HealthTech Research Centre at Oxford. 

Claire performs secretarial duties for the HealthTech Research Centre Strategic Partnership Board and Operational Group.

She was a recipient of a departmental Award for Excellence in 2022.

Claire holds a BA Hons in English Literature from the Open University and an MA in English Literature, also from the Open University. 

Claire is the former founding director and editor in chief of After Nyne Magazine, an arts periodical online and in print, which ran from 2014 to 2019. From 2017 – 2019, she also researched, produced and presented The After Nyne Art Podcast, and ran and presented the art talks programme at private Mayfair member’s club 12 Hay Hill in 2018. She also ran and presented the talks programme during the inaugural Kensington & Chelsea Art Week in 2018.

Claire is passionate about arts education, and, in 2018, mentored students at Regents University London through the production of an issue of After Nyne Magazine, involving them in sourcing material, conducting interviews and other aspects of the process. After Nyne Magazine was an official media partner of the University.

From 2003 - 2007 Claire was a civil servant the Home Office working on extradition, and retains a keen interest in politics, government and current affairs.
