Hahyun Lee

DPhil candidate

I joined Oxford as a DPhil candidate in October 2025. My research involves estimating socio-economic and racial inequalities in the incidence and antibiotic resistance of urinary-tract and bloodstream infections. I'm also designing a target product profile for an ExPEC Escherichia coli vaccine, and conducting a health-economic analysis to see whether it can equitably mitigate associated resistance.

This is funded by an NIHR grant on HCAIs/AMR, and is supervised by Drs. Koen Pouwels, Murong Yang, David Smith (Institut Pasteur) and Julie Robotham (UKHSA).

Prior to this, I was a subeditor at Nature. I hold an MS in climate science and epidemiology, and a BS in biology and medical anthropology.
