Multiple long term conditions (multimorbidity); Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases; Dementia; Life course epidemiology
I split my time between the NDPCHS, University of Oxford and School of Medicine, Keele University. My primary research interest is epidemiology and implementation research in multiple long-term conditions (multimorbidity), frailty, ageing, and polypharmacy using large electronic health records. At NDPCHS I do research on dementia, whereas at Keele University my research is on Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal conditions.
I am a qualified physiotherapist and epidemiologist. My research interests are also on intersection of multimorbidity with exercise medicine, musculoskeletal conditions, ageing, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. Origin in India but currently living in the UK with more than a decade of experience in multimorbidity research in both developing and developed countries. My skills involve but not limited to life course epidemiology, complex longitudinal data analyses, such as trajectory and transitions models, latent variable modelling, geospatial modelling, interrupted time series, joinpoint modelling machine learning, and big data analysis. I also has experience in systematic review, network meta-analysis, pharmaco-epidemiology, and methodological development.
Supervision
I have supervised/co-supervised postgraduate students on the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care and MSc in Medical Statistics, and undergraduate students on the Medicine Pre-Clinical Final Honours School (FHS) year from the University of Oxford. I also co-supervise PhDs at the University of Nottingham.
I am interested in global primary care research, using AI for solving health care problems and big data research for MLTCs. Open to discuss ideas, student projects and collaboration.
