My research is based on the development and application of statistical methods to studies in primary care. My main areas of current work include diagnosis and clinical risk prediction, and the application of meta-analytic methods.
I work in the Methodology theme of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre - Community Healthcare, and provide statistical support for the TOUCAN study, the EVOLUTION study, and the Mental Health theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley.
Previously I worked on the OxRisk forensic psychiatry risk prediction programme, the RAPSS study in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, the RAPTOR-C19 workstream of the CONDOR (COVID-19 National Diagnostic Research and Evaluation) Platform, and with the Cochrane Tobacco Addiction Group.
I coordinate the Year 1 & 2 medical statistics teaching of the Oxford pre-clinical (First BM) course and an accredited short course on Clinical Prediction Rules. I also contribute to other modules on the postgraduate programmes in Evidence-Based Health Care and Applied Digital Health, as well as supervising for the department's DPhil programmes.
