BALANCE aims to estimate health and economic burden of antimicrobial resistance by integrating high quality demographic, socioeconomic, epidemiological, clinical, microbiology and genomic data through a capacity building approach in low- and middle-income countries. The project also aims to quantify potential inequalities in incidence and outcomes between and within countries, explore potential drivers of these disparities, and model the potential impact of introducing related interventions in terms of potential cost-effectiveness and changes in disparities.
