Olu Onyimadu

Researcher in Health Economics

I am a Health Economist at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, specialising in the economic evaluation of healthcare interventions in large-scale, multicentre clinical trials and assessing the healthcare burden of disease.

My doctoral research (DPhil), funded by the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley, explored the economic impact of childhood excess weight, using nationally representative datasets, including the UK Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) and Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD).

Prior to this, I held research roles at Brunel University London and the University of Southampton, where I assessed the cost-effectiveness of health technologies for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and other policymakers.

Before transitioning to academic research, I worked as a pharmacist in both clinical and industry settings, gaining hands-on experience in healthcare delivery and pharmaceutical practice.
