Annette is the Course Director of the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care.  Her research in the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (http://www.cebm.ox.ac.uk) aims to identify and assess the evidence for diagnostic tests and technologies likely to have a significant impact in primary care. She is one of the team behind the Catalogue of Bias (https://catalogofbias.org). Her background is in Microbiology and Immunology, with a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Stellenbosch, and postdoctoral research expertise in Immunology at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford.

She is also the co-ordinator of the Evidence-Based Diagnosis and Screening module, a tutor for the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine and a Fellow of Kellogg College.
