Bettina Friedrich

I am a research psychologist and I am interested in health communication, health psychology, mental health (stigma) as well as service evaluation. I have also worked in the area of health equity. In the past I have received a policy fellowship and worked on improving collaborations between researchers and policy makers in the Greater London area.

I am a mixed-methods researcher but currently mainly using qualitative research to investigate safety netting for symptom management, men’s attitudes towards PSA testing for prostate cancer as well as equity in access to cancer testing.  

As a “side hobby” I am interested in “disagreeing well” in academia so we can help facilitate constructive and fair debates on campuses on divisive topics. 

Originally from Germany, I have also worked in Scotland, USA and Australia which has also shaped my interested in cross cultural comparisons with regard to health interventions and health policies.
