May Ee Png
BEng, PhD
Senior Researcher in Health Economics
My research focuses on health economics, particularly economic evaluations in orthopaedics and trauma care, contributing to evidence that informs healthcare policy, clinical guidelines, and resource allocation.
I currently co-lead the validation of economic evaluations (validiTEE) project, which is recruiting participants to develop best-practice standards for validation in health economic studies. I also collaborate with the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) on various trial-based economic evaluations.
Alongside my research, I serve on the Research Methods team in The Bone & Joint Journal Editorial Board and the committees of the Medical Sciences Internal Fund: Pump Priming and the International Health Economics Association (IHEA) Student Paper Prize.
My academic background includes a BEng in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Public Health specialising in Health Economics at the National University of Singapore. Before my PhD, I worked as a hospital executive and research coordinator at the Singapore General Hospital, where I gained experience in hospital operation and administration, and worked closely with patients and their caregivers in research studies.
