Louise Jordan from the Department of Health and Social Care will lead a session on maximising the impact of research in policy development, alongside Laura Gilligan from NHS England and Apo Tsiachristas, Associate Professor in Health Economics, NDPCHS. Using NHS Continuing Healthcare as a case study, Louise and Laura will offer a practical look at how government policy is developed, and where evidence can most effectively shape decisions before, during, and after policy design and implementation. They will also explore the symbiotic relationship between the Department and NHS England as policy is created and put into practice. Through the OPEN Visiting Fellowship, Louise and Apo are building partnerships between the Department and the NDPCHS research community, and this session is an opportunity to explore how your work can achieve greater real-world policy impact.

Chair: Apostolos Tsiachristas, Associate Professor in Health Economics, NDPCHS.
