Research Grants Application Process
- Inform the grants team (at pre-award@phc.ox.ac.uk) you are intending to put in an application.
- Fill in the costing prompt and send to the grants team.
- Identify which individuals need to give approval for the application early. This may include head of department, ethics committee, OUH etc. The approvals you need are normally visible in the application system you are using. If you cannot find this, ask the grants team for help.
- Fill in the costing prompt. This form asks from information about the call and your applications details such as costs.
- Request costings from collaborators and send these to the grants team when they arrive.
- Send the completed prompt to the grants team who will generate a costing in the X5 system. The grants team will work with you adjusting the costing to keep it within budget.
- Five days before the funder deadline the application will be completed and the costing will be submitted to research services. It is usually still possible to make small changes to the scientific part of the application but the finances (including start/end dates) will need to stay the same. Research services will check the submitted application against the costing.
- If RS advises there are changes to be made, the grants team will liaise with the PI.
- When an application is ready to be submitted via an online portal, RS will either press an institutional submit button in the system or ask the PI/grants team to press the submit button.
