Programme overview

This is a residential programme linked to the Oxford China Science Lecture Series, initiated in 2020 to develop formal dialogues between academics and investors in China and the UK. The programme organiser and host is the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS) and the International Young Leaders Club and National Academy of Science and Art Ltd are responsible for logistics and payments for all confirmed applicants. The NDPCHS will review applicants and oversee the programme operation.

Our senior academic faculty, internationally recognised for their scientific expertise, will offer specialist instruction and ongoing projects across five broad areas:

  • Energy
  • Medicine
  • AI
  • Innovation
  • Investment.

The course is aimed at senior scientists or senior investors wishing to expand their knowledge of concepts and techniques. The programme offers:

  • Daily lectures providing broad context and conceptual insights into key issues
  • Interactive case study sessions
  • Opportunities for one-to-one interactions with leading Oxford academics.

Application

Applicants should send:

  • A completed application form
  • A recent CV, also detailing their active engagement in professional VC/PE or R&D related industry.

Applications are considered on a rolling basis, and applicants who require a UK visa are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for formal visa applications to be processed. The current application deadline is 2 July 2023.

You can either send the digital version of your completed application or email us a scan of your completed form.

Selection criteria

This course is aimed at senior academic or investors, so applicants should have at minimum engaged in the field for five years.

ARRANGEMENTs

This is a residential programme linked to the Oxford China Science Lecture Series, initiated in 2020 to develop formal dialogues between academics and investors in China and the UK. The programme organiser and host is the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences with our licensed operator for China, the National Academy of Science and Art Ltd, responsible for logistics and payments for all confirmed applicants. The University of Oxford will select applicants and oversee the programme operation.

There are limited college rooms and dinner seats if applicants are interested, programme fees vary with and without accommodation and meals, please find details through the enquiry team.

If you are offered a place on the programme, you will then be sent an invoice for the course fee. You have several options for payment, including full payment online by credit/debit card or via bank transfer within 10 days of the invoice date. Please note that if your course fees will be paid by an organisation such as your university or employer, it would be greatly appreciated if applicants can check with their finance colleagues before applying on what information needs to be included on the invoice for it to be paid to avoid delays.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING VISA REQUIREMENTS

You can check if you need a visa for this course using this link on the GOV.UK website. If you require a visa to study abroad, then we strongly recommend that you apply for this course as early as possible in order to allow yourself sufficient time to make a successful visa application.

You would be provided with a letter from the Course Administrator confirming your place on the course; this confirmation letter will not be issued until all course fees have been paid in full. In the case of a visa application being unsuccessful the operator will not offer a refund
