Corina Cheeks
Postgraduate Marketing and Communications Manager
I am Marketing and Communications Manager, leading the programme marketing function within the department and overseeing the strategic marketing and communications activity for a diverse portfolio of postgraduate and research programmes. This includes the MSc in Global Healthcare (MGHL) Leadership, MSc in Applied Digital Health (ADH), Evidence-Based Health Care (EBHC), Translational Health Sciences (THS), DPhil programmes and undergraduate teaching.
I manage a team of two Communications Officers and lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing strategies that support student recruitment, programme growth and engagement. My role includes:
- Developing and implementing strategic marketing plans aligned with departmental priorities and recruitment objectives
- Leading campaigns to raise awareness of new and existing programmes, academic expertise and research activity
- Creating targeted communications strategies to engage prospective students throughout the recruitment journey
- Promoting research, initiatives and programme successes through compelling content and multi-channel campaigns
- Collaborating with academics, researchers and professional services colleagues across the University to deliver impactful communications
- Using audience insight and campaign performance data to evaluate activity, identify opportunities and inform future strategy
Through my work, I specialise in translating complex academic and health research into clear, engaging communications that connect with diverse audiences and support meaningful engagement. I work closely with academics, researchers and professional services colleagues to showcase expertise, amplify research impact and communicate opportunities to prospective students and wider audiences.
Before joining the department in October 2023, I held marketing leadership roles at the University of Oxford Graduate Admissions office and Bodleian Libraries. My wider professional experience includes marketing management positions at Annie Sloan Interiors and Westgate Oxford Shopping Centre, where I developed expertise in brand strategy, audience engagement, campaigns and digital marketing.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in International Fashion Marketing and have extensive experience supporting patient and public involvement (PPI) initiatives, with a particular focus on widening participation and ensuring research and education opportunities are accessible to diverse audiences.
