Diet, Obesity and Type 2 diabetes

My primary research interests are focussed on developing and evaluating dietary and health behaviour change interventions for patients with type 2 diabetes in primary care.

I am currently leading the DIAMOND study exploring the feasibility of training practice nurses to deliver and support a low-calorie, low-carbohydrate dietary and behavioural intervention for patients with type 2 diabetes.

I am a practising GP, and am involved in medical student teaching at Somerville College.
