Dr. Emma Crewe is a Medical Oncology Specialty Registrar doctor (ST6) at The Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK.

Her primary research interests centre on the relationships between diet, overweight and obesity, weight loss, and cancer.

She is currently undertaking a DPhil within the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit (PCCTU). Her doctoral research involves leading a clinical trial in a secondary care setting to assess the feasibility of weight loss interventions for patients with early breast cancer undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapy. The study additionally aims to investigate whether such interventions can enhance chemotherapy efficacy and improve survival outcomes.

She is grateful to be funded by the University of Oxford to undertake her research and was awarded a generous Nuffield Department scholarship.

She completed her MSc in Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), University of London, in September 2024 with Distinction and was awarded the Professor Alan Horwich Prize for the most outstanding achievement.

Her other interests include medical leadership and education. In 2023, she was awarded Distinction for The Royal Marsden School Leading for Change leadership course (Master’s level). She was elected as the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Associate College Tutor (2023 -24) and has won the Oxford Thames Valley Postgraduate Medical Educator Award twice.

In her spare time, she enjoys creative writing for film and television on cancer-related topics. She has completed the competitive University of Oxford Insight into Creative Writing programme and has formal training in scriptwriting from London film schools.

She is happy to be contacted for collaborations but cannot give specific medical advice.
