My Role
Reporting to Kathryn Ungerer (Head of Organisational Development), I am excited to be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that promote equality, diversity, and a positive organisational culture.
I project manage the department's Athena Swan work, helping to ensure we stay on track for our next Gold application in 2028 by supporting the Self-Assessment Team and Better Workplace Groups.
Working closely with the wonderful Communications team, I'm excited to create an inclusive work environment by fostering two-way communication with staff and students across the department. This involves helping organise the Department Open Meetings, actively listening to and addressing feedback through surveys and focus groups, and consulting on various projects across the department.
Before PHC, I worked within the HR team at the Mathematical Institute where I actively contributed to EDI work as an MPLS EDI Fellow and as EDI Project Officer (maternity cover). I really enjoyed project managing and contributing to departmental EDI initiatives such as their Inclusive Portraiture project, inaugural Wellbeing Strategy, Race Equality Action Plan and creating more inclusive recruitment and onboarding experiences for EMCRs.
Before making the above career change into HR, I was an Operations Manager at the Ashmolean Museum within their Commercial team predominantly managing their Event Operations. This involved line-managing a wonderful and diverse team of people, managing budgets, and being responsible for the general Health & Safety of people and the building.
I'm an LGBTQ+ Ally and really care about mental health, wellbeing, and 'inclusive leadership' practices - I look forward to contributing to these areas in my role here.
I was born in the Netherlands but grew up in Spain before moving to the UK for study purposes. In my spare time, I love to crochet, explore nature, relax with my cat, and play video games.
Please feel free to talk to me anytime about any of the above, and also in my Mental Health First Aider capacity.
If you have any ideas you'd like to share around EDI and wellbeing initiatives, please get in touch.
