Haoran Yang

Haoran Yang is a researcher in the Sustainable Healthy Food Group (SHFG), within the Health Behaviours Team.

He currently works on the FoodSEqual and AMPHORA projects, applying health economic simulation models to assess the long-term health, economic and equity impacts of interventions related to nutrition, food systems and environmental health, and to inform public health policy.

Haoran completed his PhD in Economics at Sapienza University of Rome. His doctoral research explored the behavioural relationship between household food waste and dietary behaviours. Prior to joining Oxford, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pisa, where he investigated healthy diet affordability, food insecurity and nutrition-sensitive policy. His broader research interests lie at the intersection of health economics, behavioural economics and public health, particularly health economic modelling, nutrition, health inequalities and sustainable food systems.
