Irene Kyomuhangi

PhD, MSc, BSc

Epidemiologist / Health Data Scientist

My background is in biomedical science (BSc), immunology of infectious diseases (MSc), statistics and epidemiology (PhD).

Before joining the Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science, I primarily worked in the global health sector, focusing on malaria and neglected tropical disease research. I supported a range of epidemiological and operational research aimed at informing intervention policy, in collaboration with ministries of health across sub-Saharan Africa.

My work focuses on generating 'good data' and applying statistical methodology to improve public health policy and intervention strategies. I am passionate about making research accessible through open access practices and better research communication.
