My research focuses on the changing nutritional trends present in people living with cystic fibrosis, with a specific focus on the emerging issues of evaluation and treatment of excess weight in this population.
My doctoral research will be completed in the Health Behaviours Team under the joint supervision of Dr. Dimitrios Koutoukidis, Professor Amanda Adler (Professor of Diabetic Medicine and Health Policy, University of Oxford) and Dr. Pippa Lally (University of Surrey). I have been awarded an NIHR Doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship.
I completed in my undergraduate Masters degree in dietetics at the University of Nottingham. I am a specialist dietitian with 20 years’ experience in the NHS working with people with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease affecting multiple systems. I was awarded the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ‘Allied Health Professional of the Year’ award in 2019.
I co-chair the European Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition Group and I am involved with various projects in the cystic fibrosis clinical community. I regularly present at national and international conferences.
