DPhil Student & Dietitian

My research focuses on the treatment of childhood obesity with a specific focus on the social stigma associated with weight management in children and the use of digital applications to support treatment.

My doctorial research will be completed in the Health Behaviours Team under the joint supervision of Professor Susan Jebb, Professor Paul Aveyard and Dr Tanisha Spratt.  I have been awarded an Oxford-Wolfson-Marriott NDPCHS Graduate Scholarship in Primary Health Care to fund my studies.

My background is as a Registered Dietitian specialising in paediatrics.  I completed in my undergraduate degree in dietetics at the University of Alberta in Canada and my masters in Advanced Dietetics at the University of Nottingham.  I also run a social enterprise which works with local councils, schools and not-for-profits to develop, deliver and evaluate innovative public health programmes for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
