Monika Chowaniec

Clinical Teaching Fellow in Psychiatry and Primary Care
Dr Monika Chowaniec is a Clinical Teaching Fellow working in both the Department of Psychiatry and in Primary Care Health Sciences. She graduated from the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine in 2023, and completed her Foundation Programme in the Oxford Foundation School in 2025.
As part of her role, she is working on developing new multi-professional teaching that brings together Psychiatry and Primary Care and promotes collaboration and communication between specialties in the context of mental health presentations. Alongside this work, she is also involved in delivering classroom teaching, tutorials, and facilitating simulation sessions, particularly for Year 5 Medical Students, as well as assisting with the development of the Learning with Patients programme for Year 1 and 2. She is currently undertaking a project on the NHS 10-year plan from a medical education perspective under Prof. Sophie Park.
Monika has previously collaborated with the IRIHS (Interdisciplinary Research in Health Sciences) group in the Primary Care Department as a Research Assistant Intern in Health Care and Environmental Sustainability in 2024, under Dr Amy Booth and Prof. Sara Shaw, working on the carbon footprint of medical devices. This systematic review has been recently accepted for publication.
