LightCOM

The LightCOM Study

I am currently the UK based Trial Manager for the Lighthouse consortium on Obesity management (LightCOM) studies which is a collaborative research study funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation with the main Clinical Trials Unit based in Copenhagen, Denmark.


The LightCOM project aims to test a new intensive weight loss programme versus current standard of care over 3 independent studies within the main study, these studies are:


LightCARE: a study to test the new intensive weight loss programme versus the usual care for adults with obesity in primary care.


LightWAY: a study to test the effects of the new intensive weight loss programme versus usual care for adults with severe and complex obesity


LightBAR: a study to test the effects of the new intensive weight loss programme versus bariatric surgery for patients with severe and complex obesity.


My background, before joining Primary Care Health Sciences was in The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences working within the Surgical Interventional Trials Unit and specifically with trials around Prostate Cancer.
