NIHR Oxford BRC PPI Manager
I am responsible for the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) work of the cross-cutting Partnerships for Health, Wealth and Innovation (PHWI) theme of the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). This includes supporting researchers in their PPI and integrating it across all themes of the BRC, and providing training for PPI contributors.
I have a background in health communication, in particular creating content in a variety of formats for lay users. I have a keen interest in promoting the relevance and importance of science and research, especially in health, to a wider audience and believe everyone has something to offer that can help advance progress in this area. I have also taught English as a foreign language and have seen how the way in which information is presented can make a huge difference to how people receive and respond to it.
I have a degree in biomedical science, a postgraduate editorial/journalism qualification and obtained the Trinity Certificate in TESOL.
