Sonya Beecher

Trial Coordinator

Based in the Infectious Diseases theme of the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit, my role supports the set up and management of clinical trials in a network of sites in primary or secondary care settings. I assist study teams with site administration, participant recruitment and follow ups, supply of study materials, communications and data collection in accordance with principles of Good Clinical Practice.

I have experience working on the following studies:

ARCHIE –  a study looking at whether children with a range of chronic conditions presenting with influenza like illness would benefit from early intervention of antibiotics to prevent later infections.

ALIC4E – a large European wide study investigating the clinical and cost effectiveness of antivirals to treat influenza in adults and children presenting in primary care.

MERMAIDS ARI – An observational study into the genetic and aetiological factors influencing severity of acute respiratory infections in adults.
