NIHR SPCR Doctoral Fellow

Nadia Swann is an NIHR SPCR DPhil Fellow reading for a DPhil in Translational Health Sciences. She has contributed to recent research on the remote care RBD2 study, patient safety and digital exclusion.

Her DPhil is The T1D 'LooPED Study: Learning about Patient Experiences in type 1 Diabetes of using closed-loop systems: a qualitative, phenomenological study into the knowledge practices of people livings with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) using closed-loop insulin delivery systems. 

A member of the Interdisciplinary Research in Health Sciences (IRIHS) unit, she obtained an MSc with Distinction in Translational Health Sciences from Oxford and was awarded the Prize for Outstanding Dissertation for her work on diabetes technologies in her MSc. She is a guest lecturer on the Patients Citizens and Politics of Evidence and Digital Health modules of the MSc. She is also a director of a type 1 diabetes research charity and a former law firm partner.
