David Jones
Senior Researcher in Cancer Decision Analytic Modeling
I am a Senior Researcher in Cancer Decision Analytic Modeling in the Health Economics and Policy Evaluation Group. My research is focused on the early and late phase evaluation of single- and multi-cancer early detection (MCED) technologies, working closely with colleagues across the Cancer Theme.
Directly prior to starting this role in December 2025, I worked for three years as a Senior Health Economist at a leading MCED technology company. Much of my work involved developing the evidence base to support future economic evaluations of screening technologies as well as modelling the potential health system impacts of population-wide MCED screening.
I hold a DPhil in Health Economics from the Nuffield Department of Population Health. My DPhil focused on Hodgkin lymphoma, in particular developing natural history of disease models to understand the trade-off between short-term disease outcomes and the late-effects of radiotherapy.
