Jackie Parker

As Deputy Grants Manager, I line manage three members of the Grants Team, supporting them to effectively and efficiently manage the Department's research activities, and offering support and guidance for any professional and career development opportunities.

Part of my role is to support the Grants Manager to proactively analyse grant finances across our portfolio, alerting the PIs and Department of any substantive risks. 

We also work very closely with our HR colleagues to ensure any recruitment or contract extensions for any research grant funded employees are signed off in a timely fashion. 

Another part of my role involves managing a portfolio of projects for the IRIHS and Workforce and Learning research groups and involves working with PIs to get accurate costings for any applications they may wish to submit, as well as managing projects Post-Award. We work closely with Research Accounts, Research Services, the Contracts Team and also various funders to make sure all terms and conditions are adhered to.

I have worked in the University since 2014, firstly in Oncology and then Oxford Cancer, in various Finance and Grants roles, and joined PHC in February 2025.
