Open Ended Contracts
The University has four different contract types available for departments to issue to staff.
An Open Ended contract is applicable to posts that are externally funded and where there is a reasonable prospect of the funding continuing for the foreseeable future and where the work is central to the future plans of the department.
The department policy for the transfer of staff on a fixed term contract to an open ended contract can be viewed here
The department regularly reviews all staff holding fixed term contracts to assess if they should be transferred to an open contract following the criteria as set out in the policy.
